Art Advisory

Our art advisory service is for anyone who wants to live with contemporary art but is not sure where to begin. We sit with you, look at work together and talk about what you respond to — one piece for a living room, or a set of works for an office wall. The advice stays with Nigerian and African contemporary practice, and there is no pressure to buy.

How advisory works

  • First conversation — We begin by listening. Tell us what you have seen and liked, the rooms you are thinking of, and what you want the work to do there.
  • Looking together — We visit the gallery or a show with you, look at pieces side by side and talk honestly about what works and what does not.
  • Building the collection — We help you choose pieces that sit well together over time, and advise on caring for them once they are on your wall.

Advisory questions

  • I have never bought art before. Where do we start? — Start with a visit. Come and look with no obligation, tell us what catches your eye, and we will take the conversation from there.
  • Can you help me find work by a particular kind of artist? — Yes. Tell us the medium, scale or region you are interested in and we will suggest Nigerian and African contemporary artists whose work fits.
  • Do you help with hanging and placing a work? — We advise on where a piece will sit best in a room, and on light and framing. Practical hanging is arranged with the people you already work with.
  • Will you tell me what a work is worth later? — We can talk you through an artist's practice and how interest in their work has moved, but we do not promise future values.

Talk to us about a piece

Tell us what you are looking for — a first piece, a gift, or work for a space — and we will reply to arrange a time.
